Die Familie der Weichwanzen (Miridae) umfasst nach derzeitigem Kenntnisstand circa 11.000 Arten. Circa 1.200 sind in Europa heimisch, in Mitteleuropa ist diese Familie mit rund 400 Spezies vertreten. Diese Tiere werden auch als Blindwanzen bezeichnet. Im Kölner Raum konnte ich bereits mehrere Arten beobachten, siehe unten.
